Setting wallpaper on iPad

Pic-a-POD saves selected pics to your Camera Roll (or Saved Photos on an iPad 1), but Apple does not allow third-party apps to set the wallpaper, so here is how to do that once Pic-a-POD has saved the pic you want to use.

Method 1 – Settings

  • Open Settings and tap “Brightness & Wallpaper”.
  • In the Wallpaper section, you will see 2 small images showing the current Lock Screen & Home Screen wallpapers for your iPad.
  • Tap this section and in the list that appears, tap “Camera Roll” or “Saved Photos” which should be 2nd from the top. If “Camera Roll” or “Saved Photos” does not appear, it means that you have not saved any pics yet.
  • Tap the thumbnail for the pic you want to use from the Camera Roll or Saved Photos pics – if you have just saved it, it will be at the end of the displayed thumbnails.
  • The pic will be displayed full screen and you can pinch, zoom & drag to position it the way you like.
  • Then tap one of the buttons at the top right to set the Lock Screen, Home Screen or both.
  • If you want to set the other of these screens to a different pic, tap a different thumbnail to repeat the process.

Method 2 –  Photos

  • Open your Photos app.
  • If it is not already selected, tap “Albums” in the tab bar at the top.
  • When the albums appear, tap “Camera Roll” or “Saved Photos” and you will see a set of thumbnails, including those saved by Pic-a-POD. If “Camera Roll” or “Saved Photos” does not appear, it means that you have not saved any pics yet.
  • Tap a thumbnail to see it full screen.
  • If the buttons at the top are not visible, tap anywhere in the pic to make them appear.
  • Tap the action button at the top that looks like a box with an arrow coming out.
  • From the menu that appears, select “Use as Wallpaper”.
  • The pic will be displayed full screen and you can pinch, zoom & drag to position it the way you like.
  • Then tap one of the buttons at the top right to set the Lock Screen, Home Screen or both.
  • If you want to set one of these screens to a different pic, tap “Camera Roll” or “Saved Photos” in the top left to get back to the thumbnails, then select a different thumbnail to repeat the process.
